CM Punk is in “top consideration” for the WWE Championship Match at WrestleMania XXVIII since company officials are leaning against the title being on the line in the match pitting John Cena against The Rock.

The heavily hyped bout is not expected to be for the title because WWE brass feel the finish would be too obvious since fans don’t expect The Rock to leave WrestleMania as champion.

Cena will reportedly be removed from the title picture following Sunday’s Vengeance pay-per-view, which would indicate that Alberto Del Rio will retain the title in their Last Standing Match. Cena will begin building towards his partnership with The Rock at Survivor Series while Del Rio is expected to enter a program with Punk.
That's bullshit Cena's not in the title picture. Del Rio better lose at Vengeance. WWE better change plans at the last minute otherwise I'm gonna be very upset!

Lol Are you serious bro? I think it's obvious what's happening here. John Cena is gonna be building up to do his thing with the The Rock for Survivor Series and WrestleMania. So although it won't be for the WWE Title, it's still going to be the main event/attraction. This gives other superstars like CM Punk a chance for a big match on the card. WrestleMania is book correctly would have 4 big matches with Rock/Cena, WWE Title, World Title and Taker's streak if he has a good opponent. And really? Cena isn't in the WWE Title picture for first in ages and you complain? Look at my favorites, John Morrison and Zack Ryder. Morrison is being buried probably because of stuff with Melina. As for Zack Ryder, he has just got his first major singles match on PPV this Sunday for the U.S. Title.

I'm not really complaining much, I'm basically saying that Cena should be in the title picture so that way, he can come in as WWE Champion at WrestleMania against The Rock.

It's okay for you, you love John Cena. For someone like me it's boring to see the same person in title match after title match after title match. At WrestleMania last year, I was cheering for The Miz to win, but it's not like it matter since Cena won title few weeks after. Then Rey Mysterio won the title, but in same night he had to lose it to hmm guess who... Then Night of Champions, guess who won it the night. In few years time Cena is going to be a 20 time champion. Although it sounds impressive, it's kind of bullshit when most of hos title reigns are 3 weeks or less.

As for putting the WWE Title on the line in The Rock vs. John Cena match, it would be a bad idea. The match is about two big superstar meeting one on one, it would overshadow the WWE Title pretty much how the WWE Title match at this years WrestleMania was with The Rock and John Cena. The Miz and the WWE Title were almost forgotten about. Also, if it was for the WWE Title and The Rock won, it would probably get vacated the next night and hmm...guess who would win it back.

Don't generalize, dude. I'm also a Cena fan and I don't really mind all that much that Cena won't be in the title picture.

What I do mind, though, is Alberto Del Rio retaining at Vengeance, though. When he first came to the WWE, I loved the dude. He was everything JBL should've been. Alberto plays the gimmick superbly and he was in my top five favorite wrestlers in the WWE. Ever since his first reign, though, I've kinda soured on him. Don't get me wrong, I still like the guy, but he's just.... different. I'm thinking it's because of the way he's being booked. Before he was Champion, he was freaking vicious. Remember when he viciously attacked Rey Mysterio and rammed him arm-first into the ring post when Rey's arm was in the chair? Or during his feud with Christian?
That Alberto was excellent. Now, though, he's being booked as a coward, and I really hate that.

While I don't mind Cena/Rock not being for the title, I can't help but feel that having the match be for the WWE Championship would make the match feel a lot bigger than it already will be. Still, CM Punk is awesome. Definitely in my top five favorites. I'm convinced that during the Summer, he was THE hottest wrestler. Not just in WWE, either. I'm talking wrestling in general, so him being in the WWE title match at WrestleMania is awesome, and honestly, I think he deserves it. Of course, now he's not as hot as he was during the Summer, but, still.

Was a joke, chill, dude. I actually don't really mind Cena. Just would be refreshing to have him out of the title picture.

Oh come on, Cena cant goto WM as Chump (lol) because he HAS TO RETAIN it. Will the WWE or Vince really let The Rock return just to go ahead back into the history books with the championship? No.

I don't know dude, stupid stuff has happened with the WWE Title in recently years. In October 2007, Orton was award it, lost it to Triple H and then regained it in the same night. All that did was add an extra world title reign to both of them. Or when an injured Batista won the title from Orton, then vacated two days later and Orton won it back making the whole thing once again pointless but added a reign to both of them. Cena also won it one night and 3 minutes later lost it to Batista. Then earlier this year, Rey Mysterio had a one hour reign. So The Rock winning it at WrestleMania then vacating it and John Cena winning a tournament really wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I'm very calm, actually. I just didn't want you generalizing. Sarcasm/joke or not.

Oh well, I have that kind of humor.

Anywho, the Del Rio vs. Cena match was a lot better than I expected. Cena's new shirt is pretty sweet too, a lot better than any of his shirts that I can remember. I'm glad Cena lost though, woulda been pretty lame to have him win it back after only a month. The WWE title has been passed around enough lately, let Del Rio actually have a chance with it for awhile now. I think he might just turn out to be a decent champ too. I had my doubts at first, but I'm slowly gaining faith in him. Let's give him a chance for a bit instead of sticking the belt right back on the same old people.
