- As noted in Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown spoiler report from Dayton, Ohio, Cody Rhodes was busted open bad in his match against Randy Orton. Cody was actually busted open with a shot from the timekeeper’s bell, not his own mask.

In a rare WWE scene these days, pools of bloods were puddled up around the ring where most of the assault took place and Cody was covered in blood, from his head to his legs.

The announcer’s table ended up covered in blood also as it didn’t break when Orton hit Cody with an RKO on top of it.

Officials used a pile of towels to clean up all of the blood that Rhodes lost. The match will have to be heavily edited for tomorrow’s SmackDown broadcast. Word is that the camera work during the bloody angle was mostly focused on Orton’s face and not showing Rhodes at all.
Fuck. Why do WWE have to edit it? That's right. Stupid PG!

You can see the pics here.

The lack of blood from the WWE has seriously made it better. Becasue it actually shocks and wows you when someone is busted open then.

While its cool for the likes of CZW to have blood in EVERY match on the card, the lack of it was a good call on their part I think.

Because we want to see Ortons face throughout a match.

For a small tiny brief second on the edge of the screen, while Cody was lifting his head off the table I saw massive blood just pouring out of his head. Was magical.

I think the WWE needs to find a balance. Like Tommy said, it is actually better to have far less blood on the WWE shows than before because when someone does get busted open it is more of a big deal and more a shock and adds that little bit extra to whatever story is going to be told. When you come to expect blood all the time it loses its value, it becomes pointless and has virtually no effect. So I agree with

However, if they go all out to edit the blood from the show entirely you are just defeating the point of someone bleeding for the storyline. I'm almost positive Cody was meant to bleed but just wasn't meant to end up gushing in the manner he did. As a result the WWE went the ultra cautious route and decided to edit as much of it out as possible, where I think personally, a little glimpse here and there would have added to the segment greatly and would have as long as it was shown moderately I'm sure it could still have gotten away with the PG rating - at least PG-13 any way.

This. WWE need to back to PG-13.
