Yeah I like Kanye because of his sick as rhymes, but he is a CHILD. He complains way to much. Like when he didn't recieve the Music Video of the Year award at the MTV awards, and when he didn't recieve any at the MTV Music Awards in Las Vegas. Sometimes, I wish that I can walk up to him and say "Dude, you ain't 2Pac."

**** people saying he ain't Tupac, just say you ain't shit. Because lately his lyrics have dropped and hes became more self centered and arrogant.

I would have to agree, I love his rhymes in the College Dropout album, but it kinda of seemed as if he went downhill from there.

I'm really feeling 808's. It's something new and fresh from Kanye. It just gives off a good vibe to me. Good driving music too.

I heard a song when he was on The Late Show with David Letterman. Not really a fan of that particular song, but I have yet to hear the rest.

This is NOT R&B. Ever.

I think Kanye is a creative dude, he's original. This is a new sound, some people will like it, and who knows, maybe it'll blow up. But I'ma be mad if I start hearin this crap on the R&B station.

It's hard to get past the auto-tune, but if you actually just listen to the lyrics, it's not bad at all.

Street Lights:

Let me know
Do I still got time to grow
Things ain't always set and stone
Let me know, Let me know
Let me
Seems life

Street lights, glowing
Happen to be just like mornings
Passing, in front of me
So I hopped in
The cab and I paid my fairs
See I know my, destination
But I'm just not there

All the street lights, glowing
Happen to be just like moments
Passing, in front of me
So I hopped in
The cab and I paid my fairs
See I know my, destination
But I'm just not there

In the streets (x2)

I'm just not there
In the streets
I'm just not there
Life's just not fair

Seems like street lights, glowing
Happen to be just like moments
Passing, in front of me
So I hopped in
The cab and I paid my fairs
See I know my, destination
But I'm just not there

All the street lights, glowing
Happen to be just like moments
Passing, in front of me
So I hopped in
The cab and I paid my fairs
See I know my, destination
But I'm just not there

All the street lights, glowing
Happen to be just like moments
Passing, in front of me
So I hopped in
The cab and I paid my fairs
See I know my, destination
But I'm just not there

In the streets (x2)

I'm just not there
In the streets
I'm just not there
Life's just not fair
Life's just not fair

Bad News:

Didn't you know
I was waiting on you
Waiting on a dream
That'll never come true
Didn't you know
I was waiting on you
My face turnt to stone
When i heard the news

When you decide to break the rules
Cos i just heard some real bad news

People will talk
Like its old news
I played it off and act like i already knew
Let me ask you
How long have you known too
You played it off and act like he's brand new

When you decide to break the rules
Cos i just heard some real bad news
Real bad news
Real bad news
Real bad news

Oh you just gonna
Keep another no you wont

Oh you just gonna
Keep it like you never knew

Oh you just gonna
Keep another love for you

Oh you just gonna
Keep it ike you never knew

While im waiting on a dream
That'll never come true

Oh you just gonna
Keep it like you never knew

My face turnt to stone
When i heard the news

Whats on the news
Channel ?

I give him credit because he's always been a great producer and has a unique sound, but my thing is this just ain't R&B at all lol. But I don't think his music quality has lowered with this, I just think a lot of people have a hard time with the new sound, and the autotune.

I just listened to both of them songs, and I don't like them at all. Lyrically, or with his flow, or with him trying to sing. The beats, are good, from what I've heard, Kanye can make good beat, no doubt. But this album, based on what I've heard is nothing to get remotely excited about.

And showtime, you have to admit that this is more R&B than it is rapping. I've heard a few songs on the album, and its him trying to sing, I've yet to hear him rap.

808's is a creative approach and I'm glad Kanye understands that he might not go platinum of it, some songs sound good like "Heartless" and others jus turn you away. I wish he had his College Dropout or Late Registration style back though.........

When I hear Street Lights, I actually fear that its a way of saying hes going to continue with this R&B/Pop genre. The part where he says:

See I know my, destination
But I'm just not there

In the streets

Makes me feel all emo =[

Most of the songs I listened to are gloomy and give me an emo feeling. Really I'm tryna consider Kanye as a person though, and what he's going through. I mean I don't know him personally but I'm sure losing his mom brought some emotional distress, and I'm thinkin he's expressing himself like somebody with some emotional distress in the album.

@ Dev: I'm not suggesting this is a hip-hop album, but it's far from R&B, if you judge it in terms of either genre you're not looking at it right because I don't think that's what he was aiming for. It's just... different.

I don't mean to bump this topic, but I found and read this at a blog site:

Quote

With built-up hype over his highly anticipated album 808's and Heartbreak, Kanye West has finally unveiled details about what fans may expect from his fourth solo release.

Offering a select panel of journalists and guests to attend the exclusive listening session, West selected Italian artist Vanessa Beecroft to set the stage as attendees were given a first-ever listen to Ye's full album.

According to The Fader, the audience was greeted to an unusual setting as Beecroft's artistry was in full effect helping illustrate West's mind set for his new album.

"After waiting in a loading area with an open bar and a DJ, we walked up a driveway illuminated by florescent lights to a darkened room where approximately forty nude women, most of them wearing face-obscuring masks seemingly made of faux lamb's wool, stood in the middle -- black girls in the front, white girls in the back," a Fader journalist wrote. "Mos Def sat down front-and-center, Michael Rapaport talked excitedly to the security guards, Will.i.am watched from one end of the U the audience formed around the women, Rick Ross watched from the other end."

While hinting at a few guest appearances including the only rap verse coming courtesy of Young Jeezy on "Amazing" and a duet with Lil' Wayne, Fader also offered their views on what the project aims for.

"Once the album ended with "Coldest Winter" -the one song on the album about his mother, the rest of this breakup album is about "someone else- West appeared with a microphone," Fader wrote. "West delivered a monologue about how this album is about the freedom to do what you want to do and that he used Auto-Tune because it is the most fun thing ever."

Other accounts by attendees like journalists from Myspace's A Place For Hip Hop also offered a variety of paraphrased words from Mr. West himself including his decision to sing throughout the entire disc.

"If I wanna rap, I'll rap," he said. "If I wanna sing, I'll sing. I told Jay, L.A Reid and everyone at my label that I needed to put this out right now, I'll have another album in June, but this has to come out right now. The way these songs connect with you, God uses me as a vessel- he puts me through pain so that I can go through it, and create..."

Admitting that the album was put together in the time span of three weeks while in the 808 area code of Hawaii, Ye's current hit single "Love Lockdown" continues to dominate charts.

808's and Heartbreak is currently scheduled to hit shelves on Tuesday, November 25 via Def Jam.

It's a good read.

I actually like his new style. It's more creative, and makes a dark mood. I love the song "See You In My Nightmares". It makes the a crazy picture in my mind.

I listened to that song, and it annoyed me. Partly because of Wayne, and partly because of the auto-tune.

I'm no fan of auto-tune but I can respect this album because it's a creative expression, and that is what being an artist is about. And a few tracks sound really nice to me. My boy was playin the album in the car and I don't think I'll have heartless and love lockdown out of my head for the next two weeks.

If he does drop another album, that would be like five in five years. Guy needs to take a break, and come back with something totally mind blowing.
