WWE SVR 2009: Roster Editor & Team Management Announcement
Modify the game however you see fit.
by Greg Miller

October 9, 2008 - Every year, THQ and Yuke's put out a WWE game, and every year, fans piss and moan because the roster is out of date -- someone switched shows, someone won a championship, and so on.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 gives you the power to shut up and fix any continuity errors.

Yes, via the Roster Editor, fans can pop into the game's roster and switch Superstars to whatever brand they like (Raw, SmackDown, ECW, Free Agent, Legend, or a special classification that's only available after being unlocked), swap titles, decide who is clean and who is dirty, as well as view stats and Abilities. In addition to the Roster Editor, SVR 09 packs a feature called Team Management. Here, you can create or destroy tag teams, give the duo a name, or add others to the stable.

These changes only affect the exhibition stuff -- i.e. changing a champion isn't reflected in Road to WrestleMania or Career Mode -- but both of these modes are good for every character -- created, unlocked, Diva, etc. -- in the game and available from the moment you turn on the system.

This is actually a huge deal for 360 & PS3 owners, since we can't use hacks.

It's funny that people ***** about not being about to change shows, now we get the ability to do that plus make them a Free Agent or Legend, and people don't care.

Bah. If they wanted us to "modify the game however we saw fit," they'd give us infinite CAW points.

BTW the two guys locked most likely will be Ric Flair (Clean/SD!) & Mr. McMahon (Dirty/RAW). That also means Flair might have the Old School WCW Title again

I have a funny feeling that you can alter the Overall status. Like 78% positive

It's certainly a plus, but forcing us to play through career mode for every CAW we make kind of kills my interest in the game.

I never change shows or titles anyway really. No big deal for me. Why would the other option be WCW?

And HBK should have the highest rating in the game. Since he is the best wrestler based on skills in the WWE.

EDIT: JUSICE! HBK is higher than Triple H :D But lower than Taker

WCW, TFA just mention perhaps holding the WCW title... makes sense to me

He just made a guess since the announcement basically said every brand except for WCW. Plus Flair might have the WCW title if you look at the first pic

It may be a guess, but it's a bad one  :P

Why would someone be switched to WCW? My guess would be that you switch them to ECW Legend, or something still part of WWE. Although I could look like a major idiot if it is WCW in the end, lat.

Why would Yukes/WWE put in the WCW Title in SvR08 if they hate WCW so much??? If you could switch a CAW or Superstar to Legend, why not ECW or WCW Legend aswell???

I didn't say they hated WCW. It really wouldn't make much sense at all to switch a superstar to WCW, so I don't see why it would be in. Most WCW Legends aren't with WWE either.

This is the best thing I've heard since CAF. If they made a new change to CAW stats then everything would be going good.

EDIT: I guess we can kick roster updates out of DLC as one or our thoughts. Then it must be downloadable Superstars/Divas

Woah, I thought this was nothing also. But this another big announcement. Changing shows that can effect exhibition play? And also changing titles just using this instead of going through some squatch match on easy mode? Yeah this is a great option to have instead of using hacks.

It´s me or Cade and Murdoch are a stable on the game?
I saw the pics at IGN and Y2J has "TEAMS=0" while Cade has "TEAMS=1" as we see here.

So maybe.

This....is...awesome! Nothing irritates me more than superstars on the wrong shows and incorrectly clean/dirty. Now if they don't force us to go through Career for every CAW this game might be good!
