Anyone recall SmackDown!: Shut Your Mouth? The game had well over 50 characters and multiple attires for most wrestlers.

However, THQ really has to do something with next years game if they intend on keeping the fan base they have right now. I think I speak for a lot of fans of the series when I say that we all feel really let down with '08. I have all the former Smackdown games, and looked through the rosters, counted down, and since Shut Your Mouth, the number of selectable characters eases it's way down until we have gotten to where we are right now. Now, all of us fans that have stuck with the Smackdown games for years, since the first game came out on Playstation, are looking at the first time the game has been introduced to both next gen systems at the same time. They left stuff out last year with the game, mainly in the Tag Team entrances, and yea, they fixed that this year, but look at what we have been given instead of the goofy tag team entrances.
The next gen breakdown, ultimately, sucks. They have perfected the game a bit more with 360, giving us importable soundtracks and keeping us at 64 layers for Create-a-Wrestlers, which is ultimately what I love to see. As a creator, there are some people that 32 layers just isn't able to cut it on. And even with PS2, you get 32 layers, and can effectively get to where you have as little as 6 green layers that are being used. This comparison sucks for PS3. There were a lot of disappointments that came out of the PAL release of SvR08. From the early scans from PSM confirming content downloads (that are, in actuality, are not present) to people assuming that since PS3 is Next Gen, it should have 360 capabilities. PS3 was the leading platform, in my eyes, but after all the hype was pretty well shattered after the PAL release, I decided to save about 150 bucks ultimately, and get the 360, for the sheer awesomeness of the CAW mode, the importable music, and the fact that they didn't just make the game a souped up graphical version of the PS2 cut of the game.
Just my take, and if I rambled, I'm very sleepy and fixing to kick a puppy.

And I want to see more Divas. Divas like Beth Phoenix, Victoria and Jillian Hall. Of course Lita & Trish Stratus as Legends.

besides, the caw system seems to be at the point where the ingame characters should just be turned into caw ingame characters. also this would do away with updating the characters with new outfits and hairstyles in each game because you could just edit them yourself
...of course i guess you could just delete everyone and make your own fed. and wwe probably wouldn't want that sooo...
