[Showtime]

Everybody was whining about how we always do freestlye GOTW. Now nobody likes the stips. Ugh, well we can do freestyle every once in a while but not every time.

Wow, only 2 people followed the Size guidelines so far. I was gonna make an entry, but I was having trouble with the size and doing the kind of piece I wanted to, so i came to have a glance to see if I remembered the size wrong, and what do I notice? Damn near nobody followed those rules.

Everyone knows that it doesnt have to be exact, just around that size.

I don't see the point of a competition, where everyone just does what they are comfortable with regardless of the stips, The whole point is to talke ppl out of their comfort zone

No... the whole point is to make a graphic from the given concept. Having an exact size is way too picky.

I think hargy should have been a little more specific with the size stips. The (main) reason we have size stips is so people don't kill the comp by entering wallpapers when others enter regular sized sigs, where's the competition in that? We don't let people pick and choose other stips though, just to let you know.

But the size of the sigs and focals so far has been a-ok and not too wildly different from one another.

I think you need some variation, firstly to make it fairer. I know some people are probably really good at those sizes exactly, but I am not at all, and need a bit of an extension to make mine to a decent standard.

Maybe next time give exact measurements you want, but give them a bit of choice. E.G. for this week you could have said:
Width: 350-450px
Height: 50-150px

Just for example's sake. Give them a bit of choice while still being specific about the sizes. Then you can very easily reject entries over or under the size limit on the basis that they were given a choice as long as they abided by them.

That's how it was with our last GOTW run, except it was 400px-550px by 100px-350px or something like that. It's basically just this one where Hargy hasn't been as specific with it.

For next weeks theme, lets do something to test our creativity. Let's have an unusual focal. Like those sigs Hargy made with just the legs.(Sex on Legs) Something like that. Call it 'Unusual Focal' or whatever. Would love to see the creativity it brings out in some people.

Sounds fun to me. I will make an entry just as long as it stays fun I'm not a big fan of having freestyle so much but I can understand the need to do it so more people are willing to make something and good ideas are hard to come by. If I think of any I will post them.
