GTA: Chinatown Wars Coming to PSP
Revered DS game coming to Sony's handheld.
by Martin Robinson, IGN UK

UK, June 22, 2009 - The PSP's Indian summer continues, with Rockstar announcing that it's bringing GTA: Chinatown Wars to the handheld later this year.

GTA: Chinatown Wars was a critical hit when it came to the DS in March, with Rockstar's open-world formula translating beautifully to the demands of portable gaming. The PSP version will utilise the system's more powerful architecture, featuring revised widescreen visuals as well as enhanced animations and more story missions.

"We're proud to extend this truly unique handheld Grand Theft Auto experience to PSP and offer a downloadable version of Chinatown Wars for PSPgo," said Rockstar's Sam Houser, "Rockstar Leeds has shown incredible talent in creating games that raise the bar in terms of depth and innovation on portables, and with Chinatown Wars we have a rich, fast-paced, and incredibly addictive entry into the series."

Sony's Jack Tretton seemed suitably pleased with the news, saying, "Rockstar's work with the GTA series has been an enormous part of the success of PlayStation platforms. We're excited to welcome the critically acclaimed Chinatown Wars to the outstanding line-up of great games headed to the PSP platform this fall."

Chinatown Wars will be the third GTA game to grace the PSP, although it will be the first to utilise a top-down view on the open-world series.

Thank god I bought it on the DS. Just thinking of the PSP gives me nightmares of that analog stick.
