Lupe Fiasco is a modern god in lyrical hip-hop, ok, so maybe not god, but undoubtedly he is the most talented person to come out sense 2000. As far as Ice Cube, I don't listen to him much, but hes done a lot for hip-hop so he has my respect.

Now this is sheerly an overstatement, Lupe is a good rapper, but he's not that lyrical, so just stop with this. I don't know how you can especially listen to as much rappers like Tonedeff, Immortal Technique, Tech N9ne and Rakim and still say Lupe is a lyrical god, because those others are far more complex.

That's very unfair to say.

Still leaves my point though. Lupe is great, but god damn, he's not nearly that great.

People call Raekwon and Ghost trash for that, but at least for Rae, he talks in slang 95% of the time. You can tell in interviews, too.

There have been a few names thrown out there and one or two singles have been given as evidence for their 'garbage rating.' I say this is a bit unfair. Typically speaking, singles are among the weakest on the album simply for the fact that their spose to be watered down, they're spose to be catchy, they're spose to be implanted into your head. It's marketing. An artist can have the wackest single of the year, but unless you give that artist a thourough listening, you may look past the fact that perhaps the best song of the year was hiding out on the full album.
But... what do I know...

IMO Hes the best rapper alive because he raps with a unique style, and he uses good similes & metaphors in his rapping, and I always understand what hes saying when he rap, all his raps may not make sense to yall but they all make sense to me. But I dont only listen to him, theres still a lot of other people I like.
1.) LiL Wayne
2.) The Game
3.) Eminem
4.) Ludacris
5.) Jay-Z
6.) Busta Rhymes
7.) Snoop Dogg
8.) Fabolous
9.) Soulja Boy
10.) Styles P
11.) Birdman(Some songs he weak as hell, but some songs he decent)
12.) Ice Cube(Most of his songs weak as hell, but some is decent)
13.) LiL John
14.) Kanye West
15.) Twista
16.) Nas
17.) Az
18.) Ja Rule
19.) T.I
20.) Cassidy
21.) Lloyd
22.) Akon
23.) Wyclef Jean

Nas is #16.
I'm sorry, I try to think outside the box and understand where people are coming from, but that's horrible taste no matter how you look at it...Unless your just listing them in no real order, then whatever. But you still can't call someone the greatest alive when you've only heard 20+ rappers (even if that's not all of them), I have hundreds upon hundred's of different emcee's from West, South, East, and whatever. You can't seriously call Lil Wayne the greatest alive...because you really haven't heard a single digit percent of the competition. I know that sounds harsh, but seriously...
