Welcome to The Heartbreak is my third favorite song on the album. Also you like Jeezy? I have always found him to be annoying. His voice bugs me.

I actually got annoyed by Love Lockdown. He just repeats the same thing over and over, and I hate the effect he put on it.
I thought that beat was ILL

Street Lights was a good one too.

TBH I love this album. Some songs kinda suck but I REALLY like the feel of this.

If you have done your studying, you would know that recently Kanye's mother died due to complications arising from cosmetic surgery. That's the song Bad News right there.

He also broke his engagement with his fiancée. That was the subject of a few songs.

This is just one album. A Pop album. He felt that rapping had limitations so he put his emotions in by singing and with 808's (electronic drum(s)).

Who can honestly go back to rapping about girls and money after events like this? He just needs to get through these complications and then we'll have the old Kanye back.

I read about that in a magazine here.

BTW we know he stumbled on 808s & Heartbreak, but that doesn't take away from the things he's already done. Hopefully his next will be like his previous 3.

I thought he came up with 808s idea because when he wrote most of these songs, he was in Hawaii in which the area code is 808...well thats just what I head in an article anyways.

I didn't know this topic I made was going to be 3 pages into discussion. :o

Same. This album was more "authentic." It was real. All the way through, for the most part. Kanye is one of my favorites but I stopped listening to Graduation. It was a fun album, but I couldn't relate. Especially with songs like Good Life and Barry Bonds, just nothing real to me about those. Not to say all the tracks were like that, though.

An 808 is a drum-machine produced by Roland.

Well I didn't mean like a legitimate drum set, just didn't feel like getting all technical.

I know what a 808 is, I was just saying I heard that the 808 came from an area code and I read it, and posted it here:

Admitting that the album was put together in the time span of three weeks while in the 808 area code of Hawaii, Ye's current hit single "Love Lockdown" continues to dominate charts.

I agree with what the others are saying. 808s > Graduation, but Late Registration was his best IMO.

You are mistaken. 808's is Kanye's fourth album. There also was:

College Dropout (2004)
Late Registration (2005)
Graduation (2007)

I mean, IMO Late Registration was a classic. But "Two Words" and "Never Let Me Down" from College Dropout were just plain ill. Diamonds from Sierra Leone was probably his best on LR. Kanye is a hit machine though, there was like 4 or 5 singles off College Dropout, another 4 or 5 off LR, and just about every track off Graduation was a single lol. That speaks more to his production than anything though. He's definitely one of the best.

You know, I remember picking up both albums back when they released (back when I bought albums), and listening to both of them non-stop. Graduation, I didn't pick up, although I might if I see it dirty cheap, his newest album I will almost certainly not pick it up.

Back to his first two albums. Great work, loved it. I don't remember a track I didn't like on LR, I remember listening to 'Gone', maybe like, over twenty times in a few days.

Although I'm not really, that much into Kanye, what I heard, I don't really like. Assuming everone's talking about Love Lockdown and Heartless, and whatever. I love RnB, but, I think Kanye has even more potential in hiphop.
