So my controller has been working fine forever until today. I was playing Call of Duty 4 and sometimes it will randomly activate a button even though I didn't press it. For example, I would press L1, R1, then it would aim, shoot, then automatically reload after. And it would randomly switch to my pistol. Also sometimes it would randomly activate Night Vision. And on MW2 it randomly pressed right on the dpad activating my Care Package marker. WTF?

Soooo I opened up the controller and cleaned EVERYTHING and I put it back together (Which took FOREVER to do), and I tested it out and it's still doing the same thing. First kill I got it switched to my pistol right after. Do you guys think it's a faulty circuit board?

Sounds ****ed. Simple solution, buy a new one and then return the old one back to the store in it's place. ;)

Maybe the board is fucked, It would be wise to get a new control pad or try and replace the board.

Or you can do what you say your always going to do when a tiny small problem happens with your PS3. Move to 360.

I don't always say that.

And I have a spare controller guys, lol. Oh well I could sell it for like $20 to someone without telling them it's ****ed up. :P

There are some who would probably buy your control pad despite that its damaged, they could always use it for spare parts.

Thats what Ive done with a bunch of my control pads I have them for parts incase I need them.

Yeah sounds like the board is gone.

There are other problems that can happen but since it happens with various buttons maybe a contact on the board has shortened or a wire has bridged a few together, I dont know :D

Of course you could keep the casing and paint it MAD colours like the hipsters do!!
