So what do you guys think of the PS Vita?

Will it fail or succeed?

I think it's most likely going to fail even though it is a top notch device, the price can't compete with Nintendo's 3DS price at $169.99. Also consider the fact that most people LOVE 3D.

sorry but if you haven't heard the 3DS bombed bad look on IGN you wouldn't believe the trouble Nintendo is having right now.

Too soon to say, really, although I'm leaning towards it doing ok, but not being a "Must-Have" or anything. I'll probably end up getting one anyway though.

Actually, from seeing the Uncharted demo on E3, I thought it looked fantastic. I ultimately think it will do ok, not ground breaking but it will manage. If they were to make an amazing MW3 for this with the ability to play online with other PS3 members, then it would possibly be groundbreaking.

For those who don't know what the PS Vita is then here is a E3 Trailer of it,

I think it might be a pretty interesting handheld gaming device. It's starting price with WiFi is $249.99, and the 3G WiFi will be $299.99. Like what has been said already, it's too early to tell, but it's definitely a big advancement from previous devices, or at least in Sony's case.

The handheld/portable gaming market is dying a slow death because of tablet PC's and smartphones. With the ipad/ipod, HTC devices and every other brand out there trying to compete with each other the specs for these devices are just getting insane. Because these devices are so good the games coming out for them at relatively low prices are basically under cutting what the Nintendo DS/3DS and Sony PSP are doing. You know a portable gaming device is for gaming on the go, as sad as it is IMO people would rather play Angry Birds on the go than play a tactical espionage action game like MG: Peace Walker. For this reason I don't think we'll see the handheld market ever boom again.

Everyone has an ipod/iphone/ipad or some type of HTC device now days it seems and with the fun apps you can get for these, people are content.

The PS Vita looks insane, it's like a mini PS3, lol, which is just so cool but I think the days are gone for millions of people wanting to splash out over £/$200-300 on a portable games device. Will I get a Vita? Only when the price comes down and I think a lot of people will think the same.

I don't think it has anything to do with the quality of the product either it is just that portable gaming has evolved in such a short space of time it has become less significant in the eye of the casual gamer.

trust me when I say I want this really bad for that Uncharted game because I love Uncharted! but at that price, I can wait.

Stole my post! But yeah i was going to say that handheld consoles are definitely on the decline as a whole due to android and ios devices. I believe consoles will suffer the same fate to pc gaming eventually. I have an Evo3D so why would i want a 3ds? Seems extra to me. Same with ipods and zune... Dont need them anymore.

Not close to the PSP. This has dual cameras, some sort of touch pad on the back, WAY better graphics, etc. More like a Mini PS3

True. Also the 3DS didn't change much from the DSi's design.

Yeah that's also true.
