I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Orton win.

Why? His backstage attitude has lots left to be desired, so why should he win, when more credible talent--also with bad attitudes--is being squandered on Heat (refering to Benjamin & Carlito)?

Carlito just beat Cena and is getting a nice push.

Yeah, but it's still high mid-card at best.

If Orton's attitude was truly holding him back as much as you speculate, he would not be challenging for the WWE Title.

Then why is it that other with similar attitudes are being squandered?

Thats true considering Mr. Kennedy was supposed to be the first one to feud with Cena.

If it wasn't for his mis-dignosed injury he would probably be on his way to WM24 and cashing in the Money In The Bank briefcase B)

Doesn't really matter to me, though. I like 'em as a talent either way.

He's better suited for a heel, or at least his character is.

And? They chant everything they can because they want to feel like they're a part of the show.

I hear them chant "what" at everyone, and the names of people with catchy phrases. Shouldn't really dictate who's heel and who isn't.

I know. But when the crowd's dead, that usually means that you aren't doing your job in carrying on a good match (save technical wrestling, of course, which is not the most exciting form of wrestling out there, but it is good, nontheless).

Orton will win because:

a.) it's summerslam, the last time he won the title was at a Summerslam! They have a thing will Orton and trivia, like his Survivor Series run, the Legend killer gimmick, etc. It's all trivial stuff surrounding his gimmick.

b.) Cena can be better used in a main event position without the title, people boo because he's had it to long and people are tired of him. Orton is a fresh champion really, and a Triple H fued upon his return would make very good sense and business considering how Triple H got injured.

c.) cena chasing the title is more money. Watching the face chase has always been the bigger draw and the WWE needs that right now.

d.) Mr Kennedy was just back from injury, pushing him straight into the title picture wouldn't have made sense without any build up (a good couple of months).

Orton's attitude means nothing because he's under HHH wing for one and because of who his family is. The WWE has a thing about (2nd & 3rd) generation superstars. Plus they don't want someone as good as him in the ring jumping to TNA over the fact that he's just a general ass. Not only that but Orton isn't the first guy to have a bad attitude, the truth is he doesn't rattle the wrong people which saves him greatly.

No. Certainly Kennedy and MVP prove that heels do not suck in the ring.
