OK, I'm prepared to let a worthless thread back on CDX on a trial basis. If we think this is taking something away from the rest of the boards in terms of activity then it'll be closed based on a majority Admin decision (the same way we make most of our decisions) and we won't tolerate any BS over it.

So for now, enjoy it, post responsibly and remember that there is more to CDX that a simple crappy worthless topic!!

:P

I'll go with this. But if I see happen to see ANYTHING in this thread that would add to another section, even in the slightest, I will take note of it. At the state the site is in, we can't afford to have a single thread ruining options for another entire SECTION to have even a remote amount of attention.

And I WILL be a dick about this.

I'm going further than that. If I see anything that belongs somewhere else, I'm deleting the post outright.

I will also note that talking about anything is the very reason that forums like Random insanity EXIST. The idea of confining it to a single thread is simply ridiculous.

Well sometimes you wanna tell people something, but you aren't just gonna create a thread just to say it. That's the purpose of this thread. Like if I wanted to tell somebody that I got hit by a car when I was younger (Blizz) there's no point creating a topic for it.

Actually. Yes. Yes there is a VERY good reason to post a new thread about that.

Assume you were to post a topic like that in this thread vs. a new one. In here, since apparently EVERYTHING goes into here, what if you wanted more of a response than 'o.O' or the like because you actually feel it effected your life in a meaningful way. Even if not, someone else may want to share a similar experience and compare it to someone elses but they don't know that someone mentioned it because it's buried somewhere in here. Then they notice that no-one else has done so (or so they think because they don't want to sort through a f**kton of posts) and it discourages them from posting a new thread or in the existing one that would have existed had this thread not existed. As such, they never post, and thus never become familiar with the site and it's members. Oh look, there went another potential regular. Shame.

For the record, I actually HAVE been hit by a car in my past.

Well what if it was just a small crash and you came out fine and it actually DIDN'T change your life? :o And what potential new members? Codes basically are useless now and people sign up for only that, and never post in anything else. Go look for yourself.

No problem. If you knew how member acquisition on sites actually worked on a micromanagement level though, that wouldn't have happened. lol

I HAD explained that in the very same post if you had read it thoroughly.

As for codes being useless now, I agree 100%. No need for me to look. That's why we need more topics regarding things OTHER than codes.

Also, excuse double postage.

I thought it wasn't about activity anymore... I thought this would just be a place to keep up with everyone. Which is why a free forum switch would have been better if the Sergio didn't want to pay to keep the forum.

Think about it... people come for codes, get them and click away from the site. I don't like to sound negative but that's how it is. Plus we all have Xbox's and PS3's which you can't really hack SvR with. What makes you think someone is gonna sign up and post if they see a thread about a tiny car crash or something...

Face it, the site lost it's sole purpose of codes, now we can just die old together here. :P lol

Well did you see the forums the last week? Without the worthless thread, there was absolutely no activity anywhere other than music and GFX, which I was also helping get more active.

Btw TRS I'm joining Sero Sniping :DDDD

Have you never heard of sending a PM to this specific person? Maybe you missed the twitter feed on the side of the website as well.

Why yes, yes I did. You'll also notice the thread were actually active on some note of the word. Something they aren't now.

Also, when I said I was going to be a dick about it, I meant it:

Just turn this place into a porn dump, that will be sure to bring people.

But really, don't think you guys discussing this stuff here is the purpose of this thread...

Porn dump = known people under 18 being kicked off the site by US law (which this IS a US site so it applies whether you live in another country or not).

And yes, discussing stuff here IS the purpose of this thread. Discussing it here vs. anywhere else on the site where it would prove valuable.
